With over three decades in the chiropractic profession, Dr. Frederic Ratio has dedicated his life to helping patients move, feel, and live better. His journey began while still in chiropractic college, working hands-on as a chiropractic assistant—an early immersion that shaped the depth of experience he brings to every patient interaction today.

Now in his 28th year of clinical practice, Dr. Ratio has evolved far beyond traditional chiropractic care. He has expanded his approach to include nutritional and functional medicine, acupuncture, and advanced spinal rehabilitation—creating a comprehensive, results-driven model focused on restoring health at its root.

Over the years, his patient base has been as diverse as it is extensive—ranging from young children to professional athletes, from grandmothers to rock stars. Regardless of background, his mission has remained the same: to help people break free from pain and fatigue so they can live fulfilling, productive lives.

Known by some patients as a “healing magician” and by others as a “wizard,” Dr. Ratio blends clinical precision with intuitive care—earning trust through results and long-term relationships.

“Nothing brings me more joy than treating the children of the children I’ve cared for over the years,” says Dr. Ratio. “Being able to support multiple generations of families—and watch them thrive—lets me know I’ve fulfilled what I set out to do many years ago.”

Dr. Ratio lives in Downers Grove with his wife Julie and their dog Roxie. In his free time, he enjoys watching his son Joah play college baseball as well as traveling.
